Susan Riechert, VolsTeach Co-Director, Honored

Susan Riechert, co-director of VolsTeach at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was recently honored with awards from both the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Tennessee Science Teachers Association.

Susan Riechert, co-director of the VolsTeach program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was recently recognized by the Tennessee Science Teachers Association as the Higher Education Science Educator of the Year. This recognition was due in part to her successful “Biology in a Box” program, currently used in more than 80 school systems across Tennessee. 

Dr. Riechert also was named by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, as College Marshall for the 2010-11 academic year, as well as the university’s Scholar of the Week, a recognition awarded one faculty member doing outstanding work, regardless of field, each week.
