What Is UTeach?

UTeach is an innovative, successful teacher preparation program for students majoring in science, mathematics, and computer science.

Initiated in 1997 at The University of Texas at Austin, 29 universities around the country are now implementing UTeach programs.

UTeach was specifically created to attract a wide range of bright science, mathematics, and computer science majors into secondary teaching careers, to prepare them through an advanced field-intensive curriculum, and to promote professional retention through induction support and ongoing professional development.

For more information on the operational and instructional features of the program model, please review the UTeach Elements of Success and curriculum overview. For more videos on UTeach and its replication, please visit our vimeo channel.
